Welcome to Freedom Prep Elementary! We are pleased to welcome you to our school for the 2020-21 school year! We are confident that this will be a memorable year of academic, social, and emotional growth and we are so excited to be a part of it with each of you. If you are a first-time parent at Freedom Prep, you will soon discover the amazing students, staff, and community we have. We are looking forward to partnering with you as your child continues to learn and grow!
Our Story
In March 2012, the New Jersey Department of Education approved Democracy Prep to turn around Freedom Academy Charter School, a perennially low-performing middle school in Camden, New Jersey. The new name, Freedom Prep Charter School, reflects an adoption of Democracy Prep’s mission, DREAM values, and successful instructional practices, as well as our tireless work to deliver the highest quality, college preparatory education to Camden’s scholars.
